Un joven periodista del Miami Herald se hizo amigo de Ernest y Mary Hemingway y observó el descenso de Hemingway a la depresión y el alcoholismo, con el telón de fondo de la Revolución cubana.

PAPA es la primera película de Hollywood rodada en Cuba desde la revolución de 1959. La película marca un momento decisivo en que Yari y su equipo multinacional filmaron, casi en su totalidad, en los alrededores así como en La Habana, Cuba.  Un hito cultural dirigido por un director americano con actores de Hollywood, una película de esta importancia no se ha producido en Cuba en más de 50 años. 

Bob puede hablar sobre los increíbles  obstáculos  que él y su equipo tuvieron que superar para rodar allá - incluyendo la obtención de los derechos del Departamento de Estado para rodar en Cuba basándose en la categoría como "documental", y el acceso del equipo para rodar en el hogar original cubano de Hemingway. Este acceso exclusivo nunca había sido concedido con antelación a ninguna producción - o incluso al mismo público.

The story follows a one-time bullied geek who grew up to be a lethal CIA agent (Johnson), coming home for his high school reunion. Claiming to be on a top-secret case, he enlists the help of the former “big man on campus” (Hart), now an accountant who misses his glory days. But before the staid numbers-cruncher realizes what he’s getting into, it’s too late to get out, as his increasingly unpredictable new friend drags him through a world of shoot-outs, double-crosses and espionage that could get them both killed in more ways than he can count.

The film is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (“We’re the Millers,” “Dodgeball”).

The screenplay is by Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen and Rawson Marshall Thurber; story by Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen.
